We carry shoes for the life span of the entire family-infant, children, women and men- in a customer friendly, comfortable environment.
Today, we are the oldest ongoing African American-owned shoe store in the U.S. Alvin J. Wesley started the business back in 1970, when there were very few African American retailers. We have always been known for customer service, fine quality shoes, and hard to find sizes for the entire family. Over the years we have serviced and fitted many Chicagoans, including President and Mrs. Obama's daughters since they were born, Eric Clapton, Ebony Magazine founder John Johnson, Ramsey Lewis, and many more. While some of the families we have served include the famous and the not- so-famous, everyone is given 5-star treatment!

We are a throwback to the old days when you were personally sized and fitted for shoes, unlike the warehouse big-box stores of today, at Wesley's, we measure your feet using the most modern and scientific devices. We also are trained to fit you in customized orthotics, based on your arch and stress points.

Today our store is nestled away in the Hyde Park shopping Center, just blocks off the Univ. of Chicago Campus. We carry fine quality shoes from all over the world. Unique brands that all have one theme ...Comfort and Fashion.

We are also the exclusive Hyde Park drop-off site for Share your Soles, a non-profit organization dedicated to taking your old, slightly-worn shoes and redistributing them to families in areas of need, such as Haiti, Honduras, Peru and more.
